Smiti was visiting from USA and staying in London, so we arranged to visit for Kathryn's birthday at the same week so we could see each other.
Quickly on the Tuesday evening I went to Fewston reservoir to do a handicap race with Otley AC. The weather has been phenomenal for the past week or so. Blue skies and a nice cool temperature. It was funny to run around thinking I'd be in the urban capital the next day!
The train journey was uneventful down to London. We go the train into Leeds about 8:45 and had about an hour to wait. So we grabbed some coffees and breakfast cakes from Laynes and sat in Pret until the train was due. We did travel down in standard class and it was really busy. We had to sit with our suitcase in-between us! But it wasn't too bad.
Literally the night before, Kathryn had suggested we paid the extra money to upgrade our hotel room to suite which we did. And helpfully it was ready for when we got there. So we dropped off our stuff and then headed back out to a local Waitrose to stock our room with food!
We then went over to Harrods to browse the shops for a bit. And we stopped by Ottolenghi to get some cakes for the morning. Once we got back to the room we ordered a takeawayy burger for dinner. We then sat on the balcony and also watched an episode of Euphoria.
